Over the course of this two-year residency, he will compose a series of original orchestral works to be premiered by the orchestra, typically during the season’s opening and closing concerts.In addition to his compositional contributions, Hamed serves as an ex officio member of both the Board of Directors and the Artistic Committee, actively participating in programming decisions and shaping the ensemble’s artistic direction.
Hamed has been appointed Composer-in-Residence for the Oklahoma Chamber Symphony for the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 concert seasons.
Oklahoma Youth Orchestras
2024–2025 Season
Hamed was honored to serve as Composer-in-Residence for the Oklahoma Youth Orchestras during the 2024–2025 season.
In this role, he collaborated with young musicians to create original orchestral works tailored specifically for youth ensembles. He was also working closely with conductors and performers to bring new works to life.
His composition Where Joy Leaves a Shadow, written for the Oklahoma Youth Winds, was premiered at the OCCC Visual and Performing Arts Center Theater on April 27, 2025.
